Dr.R.Raman is a Professor of Agronomy at Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India. His areas of research interest include organic farming, climate change on crops, natural resource management and post harvest technology of agricultural crops. Dr.R.Raman is an Eminent Scientist has developed low cost technologies, which are widely being adopted by the farmers. He has visited a number of countries to present his research findings. In recognition of his contribution, he has received International Young and Deserving Scientist Award for the year 1999, Crop Research Award during 2004 for his outstanding research and United Nation University Fellow for the year 2008. Prof.Dr.R.Raman is life member of several Academic, Scientific and Social organizations .His major contribution to the organic farming for sustainable agriculture and environment has been adjudged note worthy and highlighted by several workers. Dr.R.Raman has also organized a prestigious National Symposium on Integrated Approaches for Productivity Enhancement in Agriculture. He has completed several research projects and guided many students for their research dissertation work. He is author of three books entitled “Natural fertilizer”, “Green manures and forage crops: and “Post Harvest technology”. He has been included as an expert member in the National Level Monitoring Team for monitoring the progress of National Food Security Mission (NFSM) by Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
